I like when good things happen to me, but I wait two weeks to tell anyone because I like to use the word “fortnight”.

Keep Your Legs Moving, Dad!

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

It’s that time of year again. My Dad (aka, the Forrest Gump of Ormond Beach) is running in the Disney Marathon, once again. (I was telling my mom he ought not run it EVERY year because the novelty has worn off! ;)) Good luck, Dad, and I hope the freezing cold temps don’t hold you back too much! I’m sure this will be your best time ever!

Gutes neues Jahr!

We made it back to the good ol’ United States a couple of days ago! Our trip to Germany (Bavaria), Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland was great (I would especially like to thank the brilliant folks that invented GPS). It snowed our first two nights there and the mountain scenery was absolutely amazing. My favorite was the Lakes region of Austria where we visited the quaint, picturesque village of Hallstatt (pictured below).

We will be working on a PowerPoint presentation in the coming days that will show all the pictures that we took; we’ll post it when it’s finished. The lake pictured above is the lake that I almost fell into after slipping on a piece of ice. My right leg went in but Mark was able to catch me and prevent me from completely falling in! What can I say? I’m a Florida girl… I can’t tell a patch of ice from a puddle! 🙂

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We missed out on black eyed peas this year, but oh well, it was worth it! I’d also like to express my gratitude to the Nigerian terrorist that decided to try to blow up a plane a day before we flew out. We have him to thank for the nightmarish security lines and the pat downs we received in Germany (note to Big Brother: my last two sentences are examples of sarcasm).

PS – Go ‘Noles! God Bless ’em for beating West Virginia for Bobby’s last game!
